Making Gold In World of Warcraft

Anyone that has ever logged into World of Warcraft has heard of gold spammers. Sometimes, we get communications in the form of a bulk mailer to our personal email accounts or even in-game mails advertising “cheap prices” for gold. First and foremost, try to remember that you are playing a game. One already paid for the boxed game and the $14.99 per month in fees to Blizzard only add to this tally. Why on earth would you PAY to have someone PLAY the game for you? Below, you will find some helpful tips so that you can enjoy your game and send those bulk mail gold offers to your Trash Bin.

  • Pick up a gathering profession. If you are planning on raiding and getting raid gear, you might want to consider getting two gathering professions. The available gathering professions are: herbalism, mining, and skinng. Herbalism and Mining utilize map tracking so that you may see nodes while skinning does not. If you are taking two gathering professions, you would be best off picking up skinning and herbalism or mining. Once you gather these materials, sell them on the auction house to other players who need these materials for professions and reagents.
  • Speaking of the auction house, have you downloaded Auctioneer? This is a free World of Warcraft mod that tracks and archives auction house pricing for your server. Some people utilize this tool to make their income by scanning the auction house for items sold well below market value, purchasing them, and reselling at market value. This tactic involves some investment and can be a bit risky, but it is the easiest way to turn a profit.
  • You know those gray items/junk that drop off mobs? Save them up and sell them to a vendor. These items can quickly add up to some serious cash.
  • Quest! Do dailies and content quests! At level 70, these quests pay 10g or more per and are easy to complete. Plus, the items you collect while questing can be worth a ton of gold!
