Pac-man DX

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

The Championship Edition DX of Pac-Man is one game that has the capability of keeping a player glued to it for five minutes or having them toiling for hours together. The game is a single player one but there is the provision to have a few others on the leader board and then it turns into a different obsession all together. The DX version of the game indeed pushes up the popularity ranking of the original game of Pac-Man by the same number as the CE version of the game had done. There are new and huge number of actions happening in this version of the game which adds to its addictive traits.

The difference in the game that occurs when one eats a fruit adds more variety to the game. There are sleeping ghosts also now to collect in the time that ensues soon after eating a fruit. Passing close by to a ghost wakes the ghost up and the chase of pac-man follows thereafter. To get extra power one has to wait the time for power pellets to appear. Eating up these pellets would give power to eat up the ghosts that follow. This gives the feel that had been “the factor” which made pac-man its original rating.

There is now the bomb feature also which one could use to knock all the ghosts right back to their home screen centre. The bomb however slows down the pac-man a bit and therefore the use of this bomb has to be done intelligently and not in a liberal manner.

All in all the game in its new version is just that good, it is an incredibly fun game to both watch and play, and one that fills a thirty year old franchise full of life once again just like a new collection that spruces up a shop fitting display. It is difficult to think of a more exciting and inventive way that Pac-Man could have been re-envisioned in 2010.

The remote club house

The remote club house

The best thing that could happen to gaming ever since counter-strike is to emphasize on the importance of the global gaming hub. In simpler words, it is multiplayer that reaks more benefits than single player. Say suppose we put up 2 copies of COD Black Ops, one with multiplayer and one without, I can tell this for sure that not a single copy of the single will be sold. Players these days are capable of giving up the story or tell a tale gameplay to instead play with their friends online.
What effects of multiplayer are we taking about? Well lets face it, the gaming market is fast expanding and no market growth function can predict the exact amount. It’s uncontrollable and ever growing. The speed is faster than what it was in days before Counter Strike, that much I am sure. Since the multiplayer enabled games are now connected to facebook, players are able to share their game progress, trophies, achievements, rankings etc. with their friends, and here’s the magic, AND most of all compare it to their friends. Guys these days talking more about what level of COD multiplayer they are on than girls. It gives them no more pleasure than beating their friends and performing better. Also talent is picked up from this hub and invited to competitions held more than a hundred times a year around the world with big sums to be won. So it’s something like all your friends and you are sitting together in the living of your home and playing the same game at the same time; except for the fact that they don’t really have to make the effort of coming over to your place all the time.
There are tons of london teaching jobs that teach programmers to create multiplayer hubs in specific. It’s like engine designer at Bentley who paid that most amongst all the other design specialists, cause as they word engine suggests, the car is nothing but a shell without it engine. If your a gaming programmer, this is the time to be the engine and not the shell
