Borderlands
Released last year, this game received enough attention. With its new style of graphics and gameplay, it accounted for all the attention. There isn’t much of a story, I wouldn’t spoil anything here for you. You are in search of the Vault which holds a certain most valuable treasure on Pandora, a barren useless planet – for a clearer picture, definitely a place where Enigin would invest in for alternate energy. You get to pick 1 of 5 characters all depending on what you prefer (sniping, hiding, tanking or assaulting).
As you move through the different areas of Pandora, you will witness a similar pacing environment on all parts of the game. A largely desert planet to be specific, there aren’t many breath taking views, there are just views. The guns are of a bizillion variety, let the words not fool you, I really mean’t it. They are countless in number so there is absolutely no way you can complain about firepower. The audio quality is great. The story is a little disappointing, you never really have a really good incentive to complete the blandly narrated job. Mostly descriptive based, the characters are lifeless, they don’t do much talking, when you ask for job, there is only a written instruction. The creatures and the irritating cultists of the planet are fun to kill. The jobs as you proceed higher are more rewarding. You character develops through the point system, in other words- levelling up is the only way up.
If you are a patient fallout kind of player, this game is for you, but don’t expect the fallout experience, just keep an open mind and enjoy yourself. It has its own downs and ups, but trust me, it is undoubtedly fun to play. The Armour of General Knoxx expansion received a 10/10 review compared to 8/10 rating for the game, it definitely something worth exploring.
