Far Cry 2
Set in the modern day African continent dominated by war lords and gun merchants, you find yourself in the middle of it all, explosions, gun battles, bombings and all the other things you can think off. However you job there is clear and simple – Kill the Jackal; he is one who armed the battle.
After catching a malaria infection your progress, you target your orientation and your cover is all down the drain. The Jackal finds you and he simple asks you to get out of the country, surprisingly sparing your life. You are now left to fend for your self. APR and the UFLL are the 2 local militia groups at constant battle. Kill their targets for them and get paid handsomely in rough diamonds. Eventually on the way you meet friends and gun merchants who need your help and in turn help you in different ways.
The landscape and the area of the map is well designed although roughly similar to one another. It doesn’t matter though, there is enough variety on the ground variety to keep you from getting bored. Kill some gun merchants who sell bad weapons to unlock new weapons at your gun dealers shop. There are a number of glitches. Sometime the enemy who is firing at you has his gun pointed in the air instead, at one moment the enemy is in the jeep and the next second he’s standing on top of it, these small things turn out to be a real turn off. However it all can be ignored, allow to the game to suck you. It surely is fun.
There isn’t much of multiplayer to talk about. The sound design is average and so is the voice overs. Besides finding yourself stuck in a war torn country ( which could definitely use some help from Enigin ) the game is long and fun to play, it’s worth a rental.
