Fallout: New Vegas – Old World Blues

Fallout: New Vegas – Old World Blues is the third add on for the original Fallout: New Vegas game. And while many sequels are not as good as the original, this add on surpasses all others.

You will get a kick out of fighting scorpion robots using a sonic weapon which is programmable and can be made to give off an opera singer-like sound. Or you can use other weapons you have earned throughout the game, like the K9000 Cyberdog, to fight off the other lobotomized patients. This weapon is a machine gun that whines like a dog when it is unequipped.

The premise of this game is set around the fact that your brain has been removed by an evil scientist named Dr. Klein and his weird sidekicks. And the even weirder thing is the fact that Dr. Klein is not a human but instead is a brain with monitors around it.

Now you may think that it should be easy to get your brain back from another brain, however, you have to search for it because it is in Dr. Klein’s cohort, Dr. Mobius'lab.

While searching for your brain, you will be rewarded with many different weapons to use along your journey. But that’s not the fun part. No, the fun part is listening to the funny comments and voices. Whoever wrote the material for the game should definitely have a comedy show. I particularly loved the insecure body armour that I was wearing that asked me, “Do you like me?” The artwork in this game is really good and it is apparent these guys went to art classes somewhere.

The only bad thing about Fallout: New Vegas – Old World Blues is the usual things – slow motion entering VATS (the Vault Assisted Targeting System) and poor lighting that makes it hard to find the items you are searching for or avoiding the mines along the way.
