Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy XIII

As we enter the month of March, the gaming world prepares itself for some of 2010’s, and arguably the Playstation 3’s, biggest releases. With God of War III coming out mid-way through this month and Heavy Rain having been released already, what more could possibly be coming out in the same month?

Well, I think it’s safe to say that there is one more game whose release will eclipse even that of God of War III, and that is the latest in a long running, highly successful and incredibly popular series of games. Final Fantasy XIII (13) is finally hitting our stores.

This will be the first Final Fantasy game to be released on the Playstation 3, despite it being nearly four years since the PS3 came out. We heard about Final Fantasy 13 during its production stages a couple of years ago and we have been waiting patiently for its release for a long time.

The great thing about a lengthy production time is that hopefully, the creators have made a fantastic game which is devoid of flaws. They aren’t simply rushing out a game they know would sell to make some quick cash, they want this to be amazing.

From the trailers and from what we have been told, it looks like this game is going to be amazing. The graphics are stunning, and could be the best we have seen on the PS3 yet. The game will certainly give you value for money, as do all Final Fantasy games, with lengthy play times. The storyline will be just as epic as always and the action will be fast and energetic with the introduction of a new battle system.

The world’s patient wait is over as Final Fantasy XIII is released on March 9th.

One last thing, I have just looked at the web design for this human resources software website and I must admit in my web designer opinion it is definitely attractive. I am thinking basing the next project on this sort of idea, what do you think?

Persian Classic!

Persian Classic!

I remember hearing about the boy up the street who was getting a

Sega Mega Drive for Christmas. That boy, that darn inconsiderate boy…how dare he get one and not be a friend of mine! The news was more than just stunning: in a time of nobody in our village owning a Mega Drive it was devastating. Sleek, shiny, kind of like the Knight Rider car of olden day video games consoles, the Mega Drive was, in a time before the ipod—when the ipod was nothing more than a scientists embryonic fantasy, in fact—the thing which every avid games player desired above all else.

Fortunately we had Prince of Persia to make it all better and our trusty Master System to play it on. Who needed a Mega Drive when you could be a Prince and dash about eerie palaces and dungeons to the beat of an eerie regal sound-track? We didn’t!

Prince of Persia was the same as every other platform game out, so there’s no reason for it to stick in my mind, and yet it does. What I remember the most is actually being scared when I played the game–my heart racing as I sought to find the exit or solve the next piece of the puzzle. Which is all very odd because I’ve never been a fan of Prince’s in general; apart from the musician, that is. But that goes without saying.

Another thing I used to do is dress up as the Prince, with my plastic sword by my side. Don’t tell anyone but sometimes I get the old garb out of the attic and still do it…

Alright everyone: I have significant news about the riding holiday, it emerged that there is something about horse liability that we need to look into. I know nothing about this, so Cheryl if you could do this it would be lovely.

Forza Motorsport 3

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

Do you hate driving games and think they get much more credit than they really deserve? I do. I know that’s not something a man should really be admitting to, but I feel like it’s an important point. I’ve just never really got on with them and I can’t really tell you why that is. I suppose I just always found them a bit boring. The attraction was lost on me.

Until my brother managed to convince me that Forza Motorsport 3 was actually really good. I didn’t believe him, of course—why would I? There was no reason I should since I was such an expert on hating driving games! For about ten minutes I was convinced it was the same old boring driving about macho look-at-me thing. And then I started getting in to it. I was soon hooked!

OK, I’d be a massive liar if I told you this game wasn’t pretty similar to other driving games. Of course it is. How different can you make a driving game and still keep it within the realm of driving games? Well, Forza is a bit different. It has cool features such as this: 1) you can take your car around the world’s most infamous racing circuits and 2) you can also drive your car the wrong way around them and smash in to all the other cars. That’s the bit I enjoy. I sit there while my brother goes racing around the track, and then I accelerate full force in to him, giving me immense joy and making him very angry!

One last thing, I need to congratulate myself. I have just bought the most delightful brooks running shoes that I have ever owned. London Marathon, here I come!

Surviving

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

British hit show Keeping Up Appearances: that’s the subject of discussion here. Click on the link and vent your feelings!

Another very good question you must have asked yourself if you’ve seen this show: could you survive in Richard’s shoes?

It’s an interesting point, why do we like to watch poor Richard’s misfortune when we wouldn’t last five minutes in his shoes? And do we shout at him to leave that house, or do we beg him to stay for another few series? If you answered with the word ‘leave’ then are you really being honest abiout how much you adore this show?

I suppose for a certain faction of the strange-holded, under-the-thumb husband generation, Richard is the punch-bag who makes the journey somehow more bearable. For everyone else it’s just good to see what trouble he’ll get into next, and how his (demented) wife will react.

So why is it that we love to watch people have such horrible life experiences? My guess would be that it makes us, subconsciously, think how lucky we are. After we’ve finished viewing it we go back to our lives—whether we are husbands or wives or not—and count ourselves as blessed with happiness.

And there’s another thing; something I only just recently learned. A friend of mine who is newly married told me that actually, Keeping Up Appearances is a crucial visual training manual for what not to do when you get married—I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before; I mean, being a husband has pretty much always entailed the same kinds of thing, has it not? I’ll definitely be keeping a few copies of this show on me at all times, just in case I need to learn his lessons.

The Apple iPad: A Quick Review

The Apple iPad: A Quick Review

After a long wait, Apple’s version of the tablet PC has finally arrived. The iPad as they call it is set to go on sale in April this year. The latest offering from Apple is a cross between a Smartphone and a laptop and takes tablets to new highs.

Main Features

The iPad incorporates a 9.7 inch wide touch screen to give you perfect hands on experience. It also has a high resolution backlit LED screen with a 178 degree viewing angle and good color and contrast to give you a perfect viewing experience every time. The large touch screen surface makes it easier to select whatever you want and the touch response has also been rejuvenated

The iPad is portable, just like any other tablet PC. Weighing just 1.5 pounds and half an inch in thickness, it is extremely handy to carry anywhere. Its ten hour battery life and built in 802.11n wireless network or the optional 3G capabilities make it the perfect gadget for those on the move.

Built into it is an A4 chip which is designed specifically for the iPad, giving it increased performance. It does not have a USB port, but it does have a 30 pin dock connector and built in speakers.

Applications?

Over 140,000 applications from the application store are compatible with the iPad. It also contains popular apps such as Safari and Video.

Music and more

The iPad lets you organize and take your music anywhere, all you have to do is touch the screen, and your favorite songs will play. Buying music and videos from the iTunes store is also easy with your iPad.

The downside?

There is no camera or wireless sync, making it a bit dull. It also lacks multitasking abilities; maybe Apple will feature it in an update sometime soon.

Final thing, I have just looked at the design for this hr management software website and I must admit in my web designer opinion it is incredably eye-catching. I was having a laborious time actually finding any particulars about the company or services however, which made me reflect upon what is more important, general appeal or working order? Why is it that most sites arent actually able to do both?

A Good Fail-Safe.

A Good Fail-Safe.

I am always on the lookout for amusing websites and when a friend of mine showed me this I just knew that it was my God-given duty to spread the word…

Fail Blog is an extensive collection of… well, failures. Expect to come across some truly ridiculous photographs. It is possible, I suppose, that the odd one or two of them have been staged but most of them just couldn’t be faked.

I have borne witness to several images in the last half an hour or so that have left me chortling away like a fool. There are frogs trapped in bags of salad, a tin of salmon with two lids and a water slide that finishes on the concrete before the pool.

It really is a crazy world out there and Fail Blog is a website that holds masses of evidence to support that claim. But it is not just photographs that you will find on there. Nothing is free of failure and there is also a vast array of videos to view. And, if this is not enough for you (and you can handle any further amusement), then there are also snippets of Facebook conversations and stills of dumb results from search engines.

Having a website like this in your favourites is always a good idea. We all enjoy having a good laugh and this is a great place to get one. So, next time you are having a bad day don’t kick the dog; spend a few minutes on Fail Log instead. You will feel so much better. And one last thing before I go, I have just found a really up-to-the-minute blog on Enigin. It has all sorts of exciting new energy saving proposals and promotions, and some pretty delightful posts as well!

Lights, Camera, Webcam!

Lights, Camera, Webcam!

How about this for a handy gadget? If you spend a lot of time on different computers then it is not always possible to use a webcam. However, by getting one of these ‘USB Webcam’s you can have your face on whatever computer it is that you are using.

It has a resolution of 480 x 640 which, while it is not the best quality on offer, it is not to be sneered at either. But when you use one of these it doesn’t just give you the benefit of putting your face on the computer (although, in my case it is debatable whether that actually is a benefit), it also adds a little style to your PC. We all love films and having a webcam that is modelled around an old Hollywood style movie camera is a really cool idea.

Sure, there are other portable webcams on offer out there but how many of them can give you the glamour that this one can? It is very flexible so, whatever strange ways you want to contort yourself in, it will still give you a good picture. There is also a snapshot button, an LED indicator and the device is plug and play.

So, if you are on the lookout for a portable webcam and you want something that is compact and adjustable with a half decent resolution; this is your baby. You’ll be getting all of the handy features and practicalities as well as something that has got a little bit of style about it.

Maybe you can have a look on eBay to see if there is a nice Director’s Chair to go with it…

Last thing guys, I have just registered that I have been glaring at my computer screen for the last few days and am really tired of my Battlestar Galactica Wallpaper, I think it is time for a revision, these and more updates coming soon!

Woodland Chills.

After reading ‘A Very Strange Path’ on Fido’s Place, I thought that I might check out this new game and see what all the fuss is about. I love games that are original and I am a big fan of ‘Silent Hill’.

I wasn’t expecting it to be that good to be honest; I mean, how can such a simple storyline be made into a game that is so scary? Well, I was in for a shock!

‘The Path’ really is scary. In fact it is downright creepy! If you like this sort of thing in a game then it is well worth checking out.

Finally before I go, I have just realized that I have been glaring at my computer screen for the last couple of hours and am really tired of my Heroes Wallpaper, I think it is time for a revamp, these and more updates coming soon!

Elf Analysis.

If you are one of these ‘Sci-Fi’ nuts’ (like me), then you are going to love ‘Elf Life’. I think that it is one of the best blogs I have come across that is dedicated to all things science fiction.

At the moment, it has posts about Star Trek, Watchmen and Warcraft to name but a few. I get the impression that it is updated quite regularly and there are all sorts of interesting bits to have a read of.

So, if you are into the spacey, fantastical and downright strange then I strongly recommend that you have a look at Elf Life!

Collected Musings.

Collected Musings.

I wonder why it is that people need to collect things? It’s something I have thought about lots of times but I have never managed to work it out. I think that we are all guilty of it to a certain degree but some people take it to the extreme…

There was a guy I knew a few years ago who was absolutely nuts about mugs. Yes, that’s right, mugs. He would spend hours on end walking around car boot sales looking for new additions to his collection. It wasn’t that he really needed to get any more; his house was full of them and he’d had to put up loads of special shelving because he was running out of space. The ones that he was always after in particular were any that featured company logos. He’d got mugs with just about every company on them that you could imagine.

Someone else I knew had a thing about different types of soap. Everywhere you went there were bars of soap from all over the world. You might think this is a nice thing to collect but when you are surrounded by thousands of bars of the stuff it is a little bit overpowering. His house absolutely stunk of it!

And then you get those people who will collect anything and everything. Their homes are like a rubbish tip because they refuse to throw anything away; newspapers, pens, cereal boxes and even their toe nail clippings! I’m sure you must have seen people like this on television.

Why so many of us insist on collecting things is a bit of a mystery. For the most part it is probably totally harmless; books by a certain author, a series of figurines or a particular style of music. But when does it all start to become an obsession?

And another update, I have finally finished the changes for the Botox London webpage. I really don’t know how I feel about this one, any observations or judgements are encouraged
